In Search of Sustaining Peace

On 20th of February, 2020 the Global Secretariat of the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) has submitted the case-study for the consideration of the Peacebuilding Support Office (PBSO) for the Secretary-General’s 2020 Report on Peacebuilding and Sustaining Peace.

The case-study on regional peacebuilding in South Caucasus presents the key findings from the GPPAC-South Caucasus informal consultation for the 2020 Review of the UN Peacebuilding Architecture held in November, 2020 with a specific focus on frozen conflicts and the role the UN can play in such contexts. The study shares experiences of local and regional peacebuilders operating in the South Caucasus and their current interactions with the UN and other regional organisations. It also provides recommendations on how the UN can further enhance its support to local and regional peacebuilding and build stronger strategic and operational partnerships between the UN and local and regional peacebuilders.

The case- study is published in English and can be found at following link:
