On September 21, media representatives from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia met to discuss the role and function of media in conflict prevention/resolution. The participants talked about the power of media in promotion peace ideas and transformation of violence and aggression.
The issues of high professional standards, skills of operating in conflict zones as well as journalist’s objectiveness while reflecting the events and preparing media materials were under special attention. The participants debated over the issue of media’s manipulation by political groups and its consequences.
The participants expressed their interest to continue discussions on the problems and challenges they face in the region and develop their cooperation.
