"Supporting Georgian Civil Society in Peace-Building – Recommendations Document" was developed in an inclusive and participatory process of fifteen Georgian civil society organisations.
It contains recommendations to CSOs, the Government of Georgia, and international donor organisations on how to effectively support peace-building, and specifically the peace-building function of civil society, in Georgia.
The Document is the major output of the project "Strengthening European Partnerships for Crisis Prevention and Response" carried out under the aegis of the European Union’s Instrument for Stability by the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights in Vienna (www.bim.lbg.ac.at) and ICCN. Between October 2009 and August 2010, the project organised two round table events in Tbilisi with the participation of civil society organisations from Tbilisi, Gori and Zugdidi; Georgian and Austrian experts on civil-society peace-building functions; as well as representatives of the European Union Delegation to Georgia, the European Union Monitoring Mission, United Nations Development Programme – Georgia, the Office of the Public Defender and the Office of the State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
The Recommendations Document is the result of a collaborative working process between different Georgian civil society actors facilitated through the round-table events.
