Promoting Tolerance
November 11, 2010 – New York – A group of emerging political leaders from Central and Eastern Europe are visiting the United States on a ten-day, six city tour, to discuss problems in their respective countries in combating intolerance and learn from the experiences of Americans in addressing issues of racism, sexism, and ethnic tension.
"Supporting Georgian Civil Society in Peace-Building – Recommendations Document" was developed in an inclusive and participatory process of fifteen Georgian civil society organisations.
GPPAC South Caucasus Regional Steering Group meeting took place on May 6 at ICCN office. The members of the Group gathered in order to analyze the regional process for 2009 and discuss the main directions for the upcoming period.
Strengthening European partnerships for crisis prevention and response: Civil society peace-building roundtables for Georgia
The overall objective of the project is to contribute to an improved ability among EU institutions to anticipate and respond to situations of crisis by facilitating a partnership between these institutions and Georgian civil society actors specialised in the fields of conflict prevention, crisis management and peace building. For this purpose the project supports the cooperation of EU institutions with specialised civil society actors for peace-building in Georgia.
On 15-16 of July International Center on Conflict and Negotiation (ICCN) a partner of GPPAC in the South Caucasus region conducted a workshop/seminar in peace journalism. The meeting brought together the members of the already existed South Caucasus regional network of journalists within who work on conflicts and peacebuilding problematic.
In March 2010, BSPP organisations went through a process of nominations and elections for the establishment of an Interim Steering Committee that would offer governance and direction in the period before the 1st regional gathering.
